The newspaper’s brief indicated that the promotion had to be based around previous World Cup matches in which the Italian team had taken part. The solution from IGI Europrint was Colourmatch – a game featuring days, months and years, printed on different background colours.

When a particular date of a featured match was published in Corriere dello Sport, readers had to find the 3 date elements on their card. If all 3 elements were on the same background colour, a prize could be claimed.

Alongside the published date were both editorial and photographic pieces about that actual match, making this an interesting feature, even for those not wanting to play the promotional game.

A new date was published daily in Corriere dello Sport, enabling readers to play continuously for 50 days.
